For those who want to compare Zach Wilson to Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs were 10 -6 the year before Patrick Mahomes broke out. When Zach Wilson took over, the Jets were 2-14 the previous year. A considerably much worse overall team.

The thing is that the ladder has been set ridiculously high by the likes of Burrow, Herbert, Mahomes, Lamer who played at MVP caliber in their sophomore year. And historically that happened very rarely.
