Two absolutely brutal takes. The Browns have changes their offence to one that isn’t limited by Baker’s limited skillset. Not to mention the fact he’d need to beat out the current #2. Browns can afford to pay him all year to sit on his couch and see what the comp pick looks like if nobody steps up. Nobody wants him. He’s not very good.
Considering the structure of Watsons contract, if I'm the league, I'm staying still for this year and when everyone thinks he's gotten off easy, I ban him for the entire 2023-24 season.

When you look at this issue objectively, there is one obvious fact: the Browns management has failed in epic fashion. What they have done is beyond stupid. They should have let Mayfield play his final year and then decide what to do. Paying 230 million for Watson would have been dumb even if he didn't have a ton of personal baggage, but to sign him when he is looking at a suspension and they are still paying Mayfield is absolutely insane.
