  1. Sean McDermott changed a franchise that was 17 years into a playoff drought and living in purgatory. He went to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor and Kelvin Benjamin as a WR1. He was part of the team that was smart enough to pick the right Josh and develop him properly. He has only missed the playoffs one time since he got to Buffalo and the former laughing stock of a team is now the odds favorite to win it all. Of course there have been mistakes along the way and some inexplicable decisions but the overall result is incredible. Yet I fully understand everyone who got picked ahead of him, except for LaFleur, maybe.

  2. Kyle Shannahan is great at designing plays most of the time. He is also a great talent evaluator when it comes to hiring his staff. Shannahan is also good at relating to players. Overall, he is at best number ten in the league. He gets all this credit but the reality is that the defense is constantly carrying his offense. It often seems as though players who should not be on the field much if at all get too many snaps including in big moments. He’s bad at letting his offensive star players shine and win games. His play calling ability seems to change every week. He’s yet to develop a quarterback as an offensive coach other then maybe Kirk Cousins which is probably why he seems to have a crazy infatuation with him. It can often be frustrating to root for a Kyle Shannahan lead team.

  3. Also, has a Diehard Steelers fan the fact that my fellow Fans want Tomlin gone so bad is embarrassing and frustrating to me. He is a top 10 maybe even a top 5 head coach In NFL history!

  4. My top 5 without any particular order is: Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin, Sean McVay, Matt LaFleur, and Andy Reid.

Just out of Top 5 for me is: Kyle Shanahan, Sean McDermott, John Harbaugh, and Pete Carroll or Mike Vrabel.

  5. tomlin has never built a super bowl champ team, unlike harbaugh, reid, etc…not saying tomlin is bad, but cowher, 3 years of ben on was his rookie, one was after he had two surgeries, 1 super bowl win…tomlin, 15 years of ben with him being better on average than cowhers…1 super bowl win….tomlin was gifted two defense mvps (troy/harrison), plus some seriously good other defensive players hampton/farrior, was gifted ben/ward/miller/parker on offense (didnt include faneca, cause only 1 year)….even santonio was drafted by cowher..

  6. The reason Shanahan gets the results that he gets is that he puts his money in the trenches, the offensive and defensive lines. He doesn't get caught up in the temptation to spend a bundle on the skill positions. All of the skill positions perform better when your o-line and d-line are the best. I don't think many people have figured that out.

  7. As a steelers fan that loves Tomlin, I think that the group that can't wait to get rid of him are older, cranky, and the r word. They have no idea about football but think they are the smartest football fan to ever grace the earth.

  8. I am not one of those “Steelers fans” that want Tomlin fired when we face adversity. It is ludicrous to me that people keep calling themselves Steelers Fans and continue to say those stupid things.

  9. Lifelong Steelers fan. I bleed black and gold. Tomlin fan as well. Couldn't be more proud to have him lead my team and represent Pittsburgh. That said, there is one simple reason why so many people in Pittsburgh want Tomlin gone. I'll let you guess what I'm talking about. Hint: It has to do with demographics.
