Yes those players have longer careers, more successful careers, more trophies. But it’s a team sport, they didn’t win those all without he other 10 players on the pitch. When people say VVD it’s very very simple. Take the player (not their achievements) just the player and compare them. VVD is taller, faster, stronger, better on the ball than almost every single one of those other CBs. He finished 2nd in the balon d’or for a reason….none of those others guys cracked the top 8/9. Period. VVD on that man Utd team is the greatest Cb of all time. On that Chelsea team he’s the greatest CB of all time. As an individual player. Not his fault Pick decided to blatantly scissor kick his knee off. Not his fault he played for a LFC reluctant to pump money into the team while City racked up 115 reasons why LFC didn’t win more.
