Welcome back to Stick to Football, brought to you by SkyBet. On this week’s special episode we are delighted to be joined by Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney.
Alongside Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Jill Scott, Rooney opens the show revealing that he wants to remain in football management despite an approach to enter the boxing ring.
The all-time Manchester United top goal scorer talks about his managerial career so far, most recently at Birmingham City, and what he’s learnt from his spells in the dugout across England and America.
With five Premier League titles, a Champions League, FA Cup, Club World Cup and countless individual awards to his name, Rooney enjoyed a glorious career at Old Trafford where he established himself as one of the all-time great footballers.
The 38-year-old chats about his success, the infamous transfer request and how his time faired at the club after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement where he was reunited with his former Everton boss David Moyes before Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho took over.
Finally, Rooney delves into his childhood and gives his thoughts on the current Manchester United team.

What's your favourite Rooney goal of all time? 🤔
He doesn't look 50? No! Probably cause he's not 😁
They gotta get cr7 on this sometime
Jamie Carragher is starting to look more and more like jim carrey
This is the best show on YouTube for me.
Rooney must hate Skiing, he is always on thin ice.
Roy started a trend. Everyone is drinking tea now.
Carragher was trying to think of the lead from midnight express and they look very similar
Quite disrespectful to Eustace to be fair.
Birmingham in a false position in 6th place under Eustace 🤔 They won two matches on the spin. Sorry WR but you arrived and your army of lieutenants and the wheels came off.
They only give a card because they have everything!
Rooney was legendary. Makes the pro players of today look amateur.
Wayne wanting to be a manager again to "improve himself" is the exact reason many ex players don't make it. You have to be humble and think of improving the players first and foremost. Have intelligence, wisdom, people skills etc. When you have none of these, albeit a decent fella, I would just stick to boxing, or Sunday league if you must
Get Cantona on! I need to hear his brilliant poems.
Rooney that’s bollox. You was accepted by the fans, but after listening to you mumbling your way through interviews, coupled with your clear lack of ability we became concerned first, then alarmed! We looked as bad as we had at anytime in the last 15 yrs, bearing in mind you had ( albeit not premiership level players) the benefit of investment in the squad. Honestly I would be very surprised if you had any kind of success as a manager mate, maybe give Eddie Hearn a bell!
Brilliant show guys & gal, love it.
Imagine being in court and Rooney is your opposition solicitor 😂
Rooney looks atleast 10 years older. Poor dude was balding and prematurely aged before hit 30
love you Wayne
Cause he was shite
