  1. Andy is right on this. Video review is ruining every sport and i said so when they all started implementing it. You end up nitpicking to the nth degree. It spoils the game , period. The imperfection in sport is one of the most appealing things about it. Trying to make everything perfect is actually producing the opposite result

  2. Yeah this needs to stop. Way too many changes recently and who’s asking for them all? VAR is a joke and sin bins are even worse. Just means there will be 10 minutes of 10 men behind the ball. Boring.

It’s the media’s fault for jumping all over the refs for every mistake.

  3. We need something to stop all the cheating, timewasting and feining injuries. We need to stop goalkeepers dropping to the ground after catching the ball, delaying the taken of free kicks by someone standing close to the ball, feining injuries to stop play and players deliberately fouling when the opposing team are attacking to slow play. It's becoming more and more common in the game and something must be done. Would the blue card work? Who knows but something must cut out timekeeping.

  4. should watch an NRL game from Australia they got it pretty sorted.. when there say is a try or penalty… before blowing the whistle they will call time off and "go to the bunker" where the they have similar VAR panel and then the 30 second timer on the big screen starts for people at the stadium… the ref and panel discuss what the correct call is.. it then shows green or red for try/penalty. Something like that would work better.

  5. Goldsteins wrong that it’s okay for players to go nuts at the referee. In Rugby it’s completely unacceptable to have a go at the referee in any situation. It’s called Respect, and football is renowned for having no respect from its players and fans.

  6. This is not a footballing decision, one cant help but feel this is in line with trying to remove the masculinity from the game. A big part of football in tne golden era say 80s, 90s and 00s was the sheer competitive nature with real men playing a real game with passion and combative physical and verbal attributes. Im not condoning the swearing and agression towards officials that shld be punished but we should not remove passion and agression from the play. The game is dying already with all the social and political influence lets keep a bit of tradition otherwise its dead.

  7. Imagine changing the rules of the game and inventing a card to protect the ref's feelings. It's got nothing to do with improving the flow of the game, if anything it will slow the game down for 10 mins. Do not buy the tactical foul element, that's just smoke and mirrors to justify it.

Players give each other stick all game long but the refs have to be some kind of protected species with privileges on top of what they already have i.e. Yellow cards for descent and fines for calling them out in the media.

At this point these refs are so fragile that I'd prefer they be replaced with A.I.

  8. Started with taking the knee and have been taking the game away from the people ever since VAR, Rainbow armbands and laces, all seater stadiums, banning loyal fans, no shirt clash club colours not worn! the game is now an international circus played by millionaires and paid for by the poor.

  9. the game is already ruined, var ruined it, soon it will be as bad as american football where the highlights are the only thing watchable, football is already like that for me, 3 mins long sky highlights is all i can be arsed to watch unless its a knockout or final game

  10. Trouble is the more success a sport has the more money come into it, that brings with it stupid profit related decisions by people who have no investment in the love of the game just on how much they can make out of it.

  11. at one time they did not want the game delayed. var has done that, var shoul be used for offsides if leading to a goal and it should be down to the ref if wants to have another look using var, not var saying you should look at this.

  12. no to sin bins in games but record what is said to refs and linesmen as they all wearing mic's and then do a report on what is said if demeed out of order 3 game suspension all wages to charity watch it dry up over night

  13. Get proper men to ref games where they can take men shouting him and all this things about kids copying that mean stop taking them to matches then because people are swearing in songs etc
