Ivan Toney marked his return from an eight-month ban with a goal as #brentfordfc beat #NottinghamForest 3-2 at Gtech Community Stadium.

The centre-forward, whose last Bees appearance came at Liverpool on 6 May, netted a clever free-kick to equalise for his side after Danilo put Forest ahead inside five minutes.

Ben Mee headed home to put the west Londoners ahead in the second half, before Chris Wood did the same thing to level for the visitors on 65 minutes.

But an incredible spin and volley from Neal Maupay settled the game, as the Bees won for the first time since 2 December.

  1. I think it’s incredible how hypocritical the English media and the so called experts are ..
    Ivan Toney is a great player and scored a great goal yesterday !
    However.. the plaudits and intense media coverage and praise I find to be a terrible example for young people!
    The guy was banned for 8 months for breaking the laws of the game ! Sure you might say he paid his debt , however to put him on a pedestal and praise him as if it never happened, just shows the hypocrisy!!

    Everywhere on English TV you see warnings for betting , yet here is a guy who only came clean to his activities when he got caught and nothing said 🤷🏻‍♂️ Scores a goal and he’s treated like a hero 🤷🏻‍♂️ ..

    Hypocrisy at the very highest level ..

  12. Second defeat for Nuno, both as a direct consequence of incompetent refereeing. By the way Forest were top of a league last season, the team that had the most VAR decisions against them. It's getting that way this season too.

  14. Moving the ball from where the referee marks the spot is cheating. Oh and controlling the ball with your right arm for the third goal is also cheating. Still photo on request. I'll give you the second goal.

  18. Toney got caught gambling and cheating the FA rules and got 8 months ban he also cheated against forest by 1 moving the ball forward twice then 2 removed the referees marker that to me is interfering with play referee to blame and var

  26. Imagine idolising a scumbag who cheats and got banned from football for 8 months. Permanent ban for the same offense in the 70s and 80s, but the league officiators had backbone back then. Be a bigger cheater once he goes to a bigger club as well, whoch were hiw own words before even pulling on a Brentford shirt again. Two faced, cross eyed, cheater.

  28. All of the Nottingham olayers moaning about toney moving rhe ball, if he hadnt of scored none of you would have said anything!!
    Ref didnt say anything and neither did players, one of yours was actually glad toney moved the ball, just his goalkeeper wouldn't listen.
    Plus, gambling and cheating, two different things, was never a cheater lol

  29. The foam is there for a reason, Toney not only moved the ball he moved the foam also.
    Its called ball displacement and should of been checked by VAR. Once a cheat always a cheat…..

    부디 팀에서 얼마나 있을지 모르지만 진짜 그대로만 한다면 넌 충분히 잘살고도 남아
    그러니까 힘이 되어죠 너가 필요해 팀의 분위기가 다르잖아
    또 헤딩골도 너무 극적이였고 무페이도 브라이튼에 있을 때 부터 봤는데 진짜 알짜배기야 너무 잘했어
    다시 분위기를 가져왔다고 !!!
