  1. As a Psychotherapist (and a Spurs fan) its brilliant to see our manager highlight this. There is a bizarre expectation that footballers and athletes are somehow superhuman and immune to difficult emotions, thoughts, behaviours and life events. Money and fame will never cover up the fact that at the core of it, we are all human and the experience of living is tough. Life can be beautiful sometimes, but it can also be pretty horrible. Acceptance of that brings contentment…but athletes who are born winners aren’t very good at accepting less than perfect. Add pressure to perform to that and if anything, athletes are probably more unhappy than your everyday person you meet in the street. A lot of athletes have also come from difficult upbringings too which is what drove them to find a way out.

  2. The majorities of my depression’s anxiety and unhappiness is due to becoming a Spurs supporter back around 1970, yes I’ve had good times but they are far outweighed by the bad or even the embarrassing, but this manager is a shining light for us all, if he stays the course or not he has my support and I am glad to say he managed my club.

  3. Giving perspective from the outside looking in with a level of realism in the mix.
Players are put on pedestals and some do not know how to handle the situation. With a manager like this , feet would stay firmly on the ground…!!!!

  4. What's remarkable about Ange isn't that he's just a normal bloke like the rest of us. It's that he's just a normal bloke who is incredibly talented at managing football teams. There's no doubt that the players respond to him in a different way than they would to Wenger or Mourinho. He builds teams, that is the secret to his success to date, something Spurs have been lacking since the 1980s. Harry Kane said he had "a great season but the team didn't". That's the kind of bullshit Tottenham have had to put up with. Kane leaving is a massive plus to Tottenham.

  5. I've got severe depression and anxiety, and now organ problems. THFC is a massive part of my life, I love this club, I've got the tattoo on my neck, and I get bantered by everyone about trophies. I'm proud because my loyalty has never stopped, I'm full of hope with Ange, after Jose and Conte whining, we've got a manager who just gets on with it. And so far, the football we play is definitely Tottenham football. COYS
    I'm loving big Ange instead!!
