  1. Yuzuru Hanyu! It took me a long time to find an Olympic competitor that I like, but this guy was the first who caught my attention, since he is the first person I saw having actual fun doing the sport and loving it so much. He's so humble and is not skating for attention but because of passion. 😊

'…german clubs even have a rule that the fans must be the majority stakehlder…'
Oh wow, i would like to know more about that.. I know with sports teams thin other places there are often situation where the club gets bough out by some billionaire, and fans are often unhappy with that, and the effectt it has on the community. guess that doesn't happen in germany aparently?

I know of 1 club in the uk that' fan owned; motherwell football club, owned and run by the well society, owned by fans. i think there's an eu xitizens iniciative, or there weas, to encourage fan ownership of clubs, or something similar.
fOund it, here it is, it hink: its europa then doth then eu slash itizens-initiative/initiatives/details/2022/000001_en

    (apparently youtube soetimes removes fulllinks)

  3. I'm surprised that Germany was second in the medal table in Beijing. As far as I recognised they performed a bit poorer than normally.

  4. Actually Children got a lot of unmentioned Stuff.
Like Horse Riding, Athletics (leichathletik), dancing or Musicians (especially these in the Region with a lot of traditionell fests (schützenfeste))
Also Kinderturnen (children Gymnastics) are pretty big and heavy used

  5. German Motorsport racers are god damn legends. Between Michael Schumacher(who was until recently the untouchable GOAT) and Sebastian Vettel (3rd Greatest in History) they have 11 Formula 1 world titles! It's a shame that it wasnt mentioned in this video considering Michael is known as a sporting legend around the world and back

  6. I'm glad I stumbled upon your videos. For some reason, I like amassing knowledge that I probably won't use, but hey! On the bright side, I'm going to learn a lot about Germany, since I'll probably binge watch your series.

  7. Another great episode. Despite all history, I like when Germans feel proud of their country, especially in sports.
When the football team plays, you see many flags and people wearing the national colors and all. I would love to see that more often.

  8. It ALWAYS gets overlooked -> BEACHVOLLEYBALL

The women's team did what no other team did in the history of the sport: won german, european, world championship, world tour and the olympics. In the same year.

Men's team also won the Olympics and Germany has always been in the top 10 teams, men and women.

We also host the finale of the world series here in Hamburg.

  9. I like that you are wearing a vintage Bayern München Shirt, it must be from the 90's. Good old times when Munich was sponsored by Opel and not Qatar Airways! Although it might be a coincidence I tend to believe that you deliberately chose a shirt that doesn't have a questionable sponsor on it.

  10. I‘am a Bit Fan of Meet the Germans, and this Episode was Good But Talking about Sports in Germany and Not Talking about Michael Schumacher, Sebastián Vettel and Motorsports is Bad. Most Iconig German Sport Hero of All Time

  11. Great video again, Rachel.

Tennis was a big thing in Germany too for decades. But younger people seem to lose interest on it. The prefer playstation and so called e-sport. 😂😂
