  1. "Never fully embraced him". At one point he was the highest paid player in the league!!!! So much so the hawks were short on $ to fill other positions appropriately.

  2. No your wrong you keep a man’s hands tied allow him to get tackled over and over what do you expect. Russell was right to stir the pot up he deserved better and to be with a coach that understood that. Pete should have retired got out of the way. Russell needed to be with a coach that allowed him to contribute like other quarter backs of his caliber do and not to just clean up the mess at the end..

  3. Pete 100% lying? 100%? I would call that 25% lying. I can't believe I need to point this out to Chris (it may have slipped his mind), but deals are not deals till all the empty lines on the bottom of the contract are filled with signatures. Until then, "intention" doesn't matter. Everyone listening to him knew it didn't mean "We will not trade Russ." We all knew it. We did. (ha!) "Intention" means "no"—UNLESS you come up with a super deal and sign off on it. They have no "intention" of trading DK, and they very likely won't, because they want to goose the quick game with big targets and a big QB, something Russ could not provide. BUT … come up with tons of picks and money and replacement players, and DK is gone. No one's job is secure in the NFL, Chris (you knew that, right?) except for the owner. Anyone can be shown the door at any time. Pete and John have been clear that they take calls all the time with all kinds of offers, and that they weigh those offers. There are no players above those considerations. Was Pete aware that a deal was well along? Yes. His slippery talk warrants a charge of "25% lying."

  4. Russ can see down field. But he misses the slot and open TE so many times! With a run heavy offense, you can slip the TE into the zone fairly easy on a fake block. We got Jimmy Graham when he was a premiere catcher in the league. We had Miller. Everett, Dissly, etc. Russ is very good, but he has vision issues, and creates more than half of the sacks he suffered by breaking out of the pocket early or holding the ball too long. Hugh Millen said almost 60% of the sacks were clearly the fault of Russ. Wish him the best, but our offense needs a change.

  5. I see this trade playing out just like the Super Bowl we played against the Broncos and we all know how that turned out and that was mostly he Seahawks Defense, I don't think RW is playing as long as Tom Brady I give him a few more years no more Super Bowls all those hits he has been taking behind our OL for years are taking their toll and Seahawks will have made out like Bandits in the trade by trading him when the Seahawks could get the most for him like we did that's how this will play out and the Broncos will have the short end of the stick again.

  6. warren moon was also quarterback LOL and he was one of the best in football but it is had to argue about Russel Wilson as the best quarterback in seahawks hisdtory Russel Wilson will be a hall of famer for sure

  7. Here's the deal: Russ is undersized for the position. That means he MUST be able to get out of the pocket, regularly and frequently, to have passing lanes. That requires speed and that entails risk. The Seahawks got some great years out of Wilson, for sure, and were at their best when he was very young and woefully underpaid for the position. BUT is he, given size and need for speed, a rational bet with a long-term $40M contract? Far better to haul in the draft picks and start over. He and the Seahawks have both been in decline. [Seattle market fan who gets them on TV EVERY SINGLE WEEK.]

  8. Warren Moon. Moon is a member of both the Pro Football and Canadian Pro Football Halls of Fame, played two years for the Hawks… Best years elsewhere, for sure, but calling Wilson the "greatest Seahawk QB ever" is at least "arguable" on that basis.

  9. I know one thing for sure, Seahawks will be trash for a while. Teams are turning over rocks to find great QB and you trade yours. What a waste, Seahawks threw away their 1st draft picks for years.

  10. Mike and Chris,
I’m going to wade into the last few moments of you guys thinking aloud on the Hawks’ SB loss to the Patriots. Don’t you think Russ shoulda/woulda/coulda known better than to throw that pass one yard? Think about it. If Pete’s coaching mantra is to ‘run the ball all the time’; then pwhy not have Marshawn run that ball one yard into the end zone? Did Pete make that call? Really? Or was he appeasing #3 to throw it in? Or was the call to hand the ball to wide open Lynch, and Russ didn’t do it? Did Pete take the hit on that call cuz he believed in Truman’s belief ‘the buck stops here’ because he was POTUS, and Pete is the leader of the team. I enjoy your show.

  11. Good on ya, Chris! I agree that Russ needed some shade after Russ’s ‘unhappiness’ and feeling ‘unappreciated’ BS tour and ‘I’m ready to win in Denver.’ Give me a break!? For me, I think Zorn was a great QB for the time, he was the team’s first QB of a brand new team that started in 1976, the Hawks played in the Kingdome, Bill, the beer man that hawked beer, but he morphed into an unofficial mascot for the Hawks and the most effective cheerleader ever! He’d lead the loud 12s, ran around the Kingdome, and visited every section of the stadium cheering—-and oh by the way—started ‘the wave’ which became synonymous with Seahawks football for many years.

Chris, I am extremely pissed off with the Hawks about unceremoniously dumping Bobby Wagner. Reportedly Pete nor John, lacked the respect and dignity within themselves to speak to Bobby personally. Bobby posted on social media he found out he no longer a Seahawk on the news! I’ve heard more Seattle Seahawks fans have reacted more negatively about Bobby than they did Russ. I cried actual tears when my son called to tell me Bobby was dropped. I have felt for a while that Bobby was the leader of that team, not Russell, Bobby! Bobby’s priorities hasn’t been to live in the limelight. Bobby has always been prepared, gave so much of himself to coaching and training new guys and committed himself to be ready everyday for his 10 years with the Hawks, and Bobby hears about losing his job in the news?! I will never understand why they would do this at anytime, let alone on the same day as Russell? That’s a slap in the face! For me, this is like trading away Ken Griffey Jr and every decent Mariner gets signed to the Yankees cuz we’re apparently their farm team. But I digress. Chris, Can you share any news about Bobby with your viewers???

  12. The truth of the Wilson debate, this Seahawks never learned to block for Russel Wilson….Period….end of debate. Remedy: Trade Pete Carroll. Last: Seahawks four man rush sucked!

  13. Agree to the title, however doubt if Russ would’ve been successful with another team, seattle defense helped him grow, throw first teams like denver might not have even started him in a match. he might have been a backup QB in NFL. we need to wait and see if denver like to play the 4th quarter tight games, what if they dont like it.

  14. Welcome to Denver! You have a new head coaching staff with no experiance and an offensive line that's probably worst in the NFL! The rest of the team is awesome!

  15. Florio acting like he had it right but he literally spits conspiracy theories out constantly every day that end up being wrong 90 percent of the time.
