  1. Oh dear, another opportunity missed.
This squad doesnt represent the shake up and bedding in of new talent England supporters have been hoping for…
Perhaps a 3 – 0 whitewash at the hands of a highly talented and experienced NZ will focus minds

  2. I think Ben Compton deserves the call up. He's in the prime age of his life @27. Averaging above 50 for Kent from 15 games. Why not throw him in. He's ahead of Crawley and Lees IMO.

  3. First test XI is likely to be Lees, Crawley, Pope, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Foakes, Leach, Anderson and maybe Potts. Last player aside, most of those have a number of caps now, so not sure about the 'potential' of those selections.

  4. Couldn,t agree more with Nassar Hussain about Jimmy Anderson who should never have beem left out of the West Indies tour, He is an all tome great whowas bowling well in Australia, We must ensure that Strauss is not allowed to have anything to do with selection of our national team ever again.

  5. I hope we lose embarrassingly 3-0 to hopefully finally make the coaches realise to drop Crawley, foakes, pope, Overton, leach and bring in the quality players that we are producing but ignoring like Haines, Bohannon, Abell, Smith, Hain and Parkinson, especially Parkinson. They seriously call this squad a red ball reset ? Very disappointing squad

  6. Nasser said I hope Crawley has looked at his batting technique and his game to stop them booming drives early on, but he hasn’t at all he is still getting out the same way every single innings and is in shocking form averaging I think less than 20 so far this season which is disgraceful. I cannot believe he has been selected he is one of the main reasons are batting lineup is so poor, but he will be vice captain under stokes and never be dropped by key. Different coaches and captain, same mindset and team. What a joke

  7. Archer should focus on white ball cricket it will be hard for him to play test cricket now no point in bowling at 135kmph in test cricket if he cannot bowl at 145.a fully fit Archer is must for eng white ball team

  8. Was expecting a more radical shakeup….this England squad just looks like the England squad….
Isn't mccullum still in India?? How involved was he, surely he's not gonna wanna go along with this underwhelming, uninspired same old same old??

  9. Picking on potential is exactly the opposite of what we've been hearing for the last month, i.e. "pick your best side to win the next game". Clearly Crawley has massive potential but why chuck him in against this NZ attack when he's in really poor form in county red ball?
