  1. I'm tired of these white people telling other people what to do with their teams. I think this idiot should give up his job to a black person right away if he truly feels this way.

  2. Minorities are not asking for a handout or special service, they are simply asking for an opportunity the same one given to the others. With Chris Hutton being Sacked the only black manager in the EPL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A is Patrice Viera that's it. The imbalance is ridiculous the Rooney rule should be implemented into all coaching hires on the staff. That's the way it changes, black people don't see a direct throughline to a managerial opportunity like others

  3. Its only a big deal in American sports because the majority of American Football players are black. Plenty of those players could make great coaches or parts of management but theyre not given the opportunity to until the Rooney Rule came along. Stop acting as if they have to hire the person. They dont. They just have to give them a real interview.

  4. I understand were CH and SJ are coming from, the owners of a football club will always look out for the best interests of the club by hiring the best person for the job. On the other hand CH is right as well there is a lack a black managers in the game.
In my opinion the way football clubs could tackle this issue is by hiring ex player like Tottenham did with Ledley King.

  5. If I was a manager I would want to be interviewed because the club believe I can do a job. I would be insulted if I was being interviewed only because of the colour of my skin

  6. The Rooney rule is completely retarded, all it means it that if you have a black manager he is probably only there because the rules of the game dictate that he HAS be there, and not on his quality of coaching. Managers should be picked on credentials not the colour of their skin.

  7. Maybe there's not that many great black managers. I can't believe hughton can say there's not enough black players in football though, these academies nowadays are full of black guys.

  8. It's nothing to do with ethnicity or race. Why do people keep bringing this up? It's stupid.
Black or Asian people are probably not interested or not good enough. Look at African nations at the World Cup, most of their managers were white! Just get over it. Chris Houghton, Gullit and Seedorf all managed teams, with poor results. Just saying.

  9. It's not the majority problem to give minority the chance!!
as long as there is no law against black or ethnic or whatever to be signed as managers it's not a problem that the minority can't solve for themselves!!

  10. Would help if media told us the minority % of coaching staff, not just head manager jobs. Maybe, say blacks, are repped fairly at coaching level and never get the top jobs, indicating racism, but maybe not. Immpossible to tell, with out the relevant info.

  11. Interesting concept. England aint the usa, so law isnt needed, just more ethnic minorities need encouragement and training, imo.
Also as natives are under repped in uk, is a policy to increase white player % in epl also being considered?

  12. No one gives a fuck if the manager is white or black, they only care for success and to win games. Silly little media and unions trying to get attention and news. Look at Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank working his up from Belgium football to League 2 at Burton. Learn from his example and go and start from the bottom like every manager should do, doesn't matter if you're white or black. Unless you're a "club legend" nowadays its very hard to walk into a manager role in the Premier League or a similar division. Premier League clubs and championship aren't just going to hand out jobs willy nilly to black or ethnic minorities with no experience for the sake of it to tick some boxes. At the end of the day, the job is going to the best applicant with the most experience whatever the background. Also, I love how Paul Ince and John Barnes are such loud speakers for the Rooney Rule, yet they both have a terrible track record in management. Not because they're black, but because they're awful managers, period.

  13. Clearly if you had the choice to hire a successful WHITE manager and a less-successful BLACK manager you'd go for the white- not because of his colour- but because he's more skilled? That's how it works, nowadays everyone just seems to pull the race card out at every available opportunity.
