  1. I really don’t get why soo many are complaining about this, as footballs on a downwards Sloan at the moment, and if it takes the government to get involved to change that, then I’m all up for it!
As these days the league is just soo predictable with a over half the teams finishing exactly where you expected them to, with the same teams getting Europe, midtable and going down, practically every year over the last few decades (other than the season Leicester won the league and saints came 6th).
As in today’s footballing setup, it’s all about who’s got the money, and it’s becoming more about the glory hunters armchair “fans” that watch it on TV and such, rather than the REAL fans that go and support their local teams, as VAR is made for TV, as so is all the lack of atmosphere that many games are beginning to have, especially with the real fans not being able to afford tickets anymore, due to the ridiculous money involved in the game!
So if the government can actually get something right for once and change this, then fair play to them and hopefully it can set football back on track!

  2. Tbf I like the idea that the tax that will go lower league teams, hopefully prevent administration and hopefully start to balance out the lower leagues and create more competitive football increasing English football across the board

  3. When these recommendations will come to implementation stage then the government will face a lot of obstacles that have to overcome in efficient and effective way..

  4. This is called gstekeeping so no small club can challenge through buyouts in the future. Are people really that slow, not to realise whats this truly is? Its taking away other chairs at the high table.

  5. Can someone tell me why they have to go down the tax route? why can they not impose financial disciplines whereby a high percentage of a sale has to go back into the club and not into owners pockets, why do the government have to take even more from a club?

  6. When some of the richest people on the planet own clubs that play a sport with what ever shape ball. They can swerve anything, Barcelona and Madrid shouldn’t even exist. Newcastle owners sat with a smirk on their face.

  7. Anything that makes English football uncompetitive in the global football market should be rejected. These ideas might be helpful but unless other major footballing nations are subject to them, my concern is it would sabotage the Premier League product. Are there similar proposals in countries like Spain and Germany?
