  1. Love how we beat the Eagles and they clinch a spot before us with the same record as us. Would love to see them play in the NFC West and not get 4 games against Washington and NY every season.

  2. 49ers had a tougher schedule AND beat the Eagles but the Eagles clinched?! Bizarro NFL league office logic. Need to change these rules. I am not a Eagles hater either.

  3. Can anyone confirm or correct me about why the Eagles needed the 49ers to win to clinch the playoffs?

    Eagles 9-7
    49ers 8-8 (if lose)
    Saints 8-8
This could end in the same 9-7 3-way tie that could still potentially happen… however, in this scenario the 49ers beat the Rams, and the Eagles are losing to the Cowboys, giving the 49ers the divisional tiebreaker above the Eagles.

NOW, since the 49ers won, if they beat also the Rams then Eagles have head-head tiebreaker over the Saints…
OR, in the 3 way tie they have the divisional tiebreaker over the 49ers

  4. This is the problem with a current format..

There will be a three way tiebreaker at the spot if the niners and eagles lose . All three teams 9-8, but the order would be saints<eagles< niners, as the niners beat the eagles and the eagles beat the saints.

Obviously it doesn’t but this is the problem the conferences are in no way even and it’s this across the board.

AFC south is a joke at the bottom, nfc north this year down, NFC south again a bad conference , then you look at NFC west and the worst team is the Seahawks who when they’re playing decent aren’t bad. You have two 12 win teams in the conference and a solid 7 win team in addition to the niners. That’s why the conference part sucks.

But imagine if it’s just a tiebreaker between eagles and saints , eagles have head to head, if it’s 49ers eagles 49ers have head to head. The system just sucks for tiebreakers

  5. This is Why I Love the San Fransisco 49ers Report, News and Rumors . The Gift of Knowledge, Explanations and… The Man Chase Has many things covered. He'll cover it all. Niners BABY

  6. If the Saints win (vs Atlanta, which N.O. will be favored) and the 49er's lose against LAR (which SF will be the underdog), they will both end up at 9-8 and NO has the tie-breaker against SF

  7. So the Eagles clinched a playoff spot as the 7th seed with the same record as the 49ers who hold the 6th seed and the Eagles were also defeated by the 49ers this season, yet the 49ers are still fighting to make the playoffs? WTF. Lol
