  1. i find this ‘purgatory’ logic flawed.
    1. golic negated it’s importance by saying how often 5-11 teams turn around and make playoff runs or win the super bowl the next year
    2. they act as if having mid first round draft picks every year is a big handicap although they’ve hit on guys like jefferson

i think minnesota needs to fire zimmer

  2. The problem with the Vikings is their Leadership. Without new leadership you stay in Purple Purgatory like the Vikings. The team owners, the Wilfs are way too tolerant of Spielman and Zimmer. Too loyal. The Wilfs just don't seem to understand that there is a timeline when it comes to Pro Football. Players get older. Players can get injured and lose their skill level. If you want a Super Bowl, you have to make your move when your players are ready. Not when the Owner is ready.

  3. We already have moved on! And the NFL ripped us off in a SB and in a NFC Championship game! So when you say they never will they should have if the NFL had done the right things! Go back and see what Childress said about Hurricane Katrina and the Saints game! Drew Pearson did push off and that cost them a win as well!

  4. Mike Zimmer sucks. He's NEVER been a Super Bowl coach, EVER. He won't be, can't be and will not be. He is conservative and when the light go up, he gets more conservative.

  5. A football game is about adjustments period…. big or small. . A superior team that executes on a regular basis needs very little adjusting. A sub 500 team with a schitzo offense needs to adjust a whole lot. Minnesota's offense is sputtering for a lot of reasons. Cousins can be streaky and has happy feet. The O line cant even give him 3 seconds to pass. The OC is not calling plays that would be considered high percentage. Some of the calls are outright goofy. Cant run? go jumbo on the line and pound away to least get the defense's attention you got Boone and Hamm..Cant pass because of pressure? then go max protection. Routes are taking too long? shorten them. ( isolate your deep threat (Jefferson) to at least tie up several defenders. its not rocket science…The Packers in the Lombardi era used to run Jim Taylor on the sweep all the time. Teams knew it was coming and still could not stop it.. Do some things really well and simplify the offense. Its obviously broken. This is basic common sense stuff. Way too many mental errors and that is a lack of discipline. That is on all the coaches. The nepotism on the staff is not helping either. Players do not respond to a coaches son..Truth be told we are stuck with Cousins and his howdy-doody personality. Its time for Zimmer to right this ship or be thrown off the plank. Im sick of Purple Purgatory….

  6. Wait a minute….you can use consecutive timeouts to freeze a kicker though?? WTF is that allowed but not when the offense is out there? Is it under two minutes you can’t use two consecutive TO’s?

  7. QB’s are just so important and the Vikes way over-paid for an average QB who isn’t really a leader. So they are just a reflection of their poor decision at QB.

  8. Cousins is the epitome of purple purgatory. Has great numbers vs bad teams then disappears against good teams. Balance them out at the end of the year and he appears to be a top ten QB but is average at best.
