  1. Best team in the World?? They finished 6th in PL. Winning champions league only makes you best in the world within reason like if they win it by showing they were the best team i.e tournament top scorers and/or win it unbeaten and win your league as well. Chelsea were 25 PTS behind the top2 in PL that season and even the previous season they should've finished in a similar position and not even qualify but they were handed a top4 place via many dodgy decisions.

You can only begin to claim to be the best in the World if you have won your league & champions league same season.
Also the following season after winning champions league Chelsea didn't just get beaten by Europa League winners in SuperCup they were absolutely thrashed.
They also failed to win TheShield, ClubWorldCup, PL (not even close), FAcup (didn't make the final), LeagueCup (didn't make the final) and became first ever reigning champions league winners to be eliminated in the group stage.
So yeah absolutely weren't anywhere near best in the world they were the WORST champions league winners in history.
Not surprising with the fluky manner they won it. They needed to be ridiculously lucky in EVERY knockout round despite playing NO TEAM who won their respective league that season Napoli came 5th, Benfica didn't even win the Portuguese league, Barca & Bayern also both came 2nd Bayern weren't just trophyless they got thrashed in their domestic cup final. Yet Chelsea still conceded about a million chances to these teams and relied more on these teams bad mistakes than Chelsea quality which they had no excuses to not have with the amount Chelsea spend on their squads since 2003.
