Kate should be worried about her job,Big Mike is asking some serious questions these days
Real Madrid is in the inner circle of people who rule the world. Not a coincidence that they always get dubious decisions in their favour. If they lose in R16, project Mbappe is a failure and Vinicius might want a move away.
What is so controversial? It was double touch check rules and then speak and stop crying…
Atlético always crying about what they can never win on the pitch. They are perpetual tercerones for a reason.
The goal being allowed would chamge nothing. Shootout was 4-2. The controversy happened because of Alvarez's lack of skill: rule is strict. The non shooting foot came ahead due to the sliding motion, and the camera angles are not good, but ball has sensors.
Also, Atlético threw the match by not being able to score again.
Nada creíble en mi opinión. El balon no cambia el recorrido viendo una y mil veces la repetición. Si tuvo un rose deberia tener un sentido común ya que no cambia el trayecto del balon. La tecnología también puede fallar
Bs. Never double touch. Va r ruined football
Not much to explain here, VAR been created to help mafia, it's much easier now to fix games, unfortunately..
Even if there isn't any explanation right now. The least they could do is show the footage properly from every angle. Why is it that when we see someone score a goal or gets fouled in the box they show it from every angle but when it comes to slight margins like this they don't even bother?
It’s shameful and clear robbery infront of our eyes
Sorry Atlético de Madrid They give everything to do it but the Var beat them much respect Atlético de Madrid Fans coach and team
Barkalona fans are still crying meanwhile Barcelona is the most corrupted club of the planet. FC Negreira
UEFA has already called for a meeting with IFAB and FIFA to review this incident. It suggests that the rule will be changed to allow for an unintentional touch.
If Real Madrid wins the champions league this time they bought it
"Audentes Fortuna iuvat" – Fortune favors the bold
This simple phrase summarizes the difference between Real Madrid and Atletico (and the rest of the teams)
Finally a football player speaking up about rugby rules. Var Also been used i rugby way before It got tò football too much corruption Hey
Stop hating lol
Julian did not touch the ball at all. According to the (edited to me) video of UEFA the ball moved to the left (from the angle of GK) a little bit before shooting. please check the second penalty of this link below (at the bottom of my comment). pause the video and you will clearly see the ball always move in the direction of the back foot of the player (even GKs can predict penalty kicks based on that). IT WAS A ROBBERY LIKE ALWAYS FOR REAL MADRID. it was physics. Not the touch by Alvarez. If physics is the problem all penalties of Cristiano must have been disallowed. They decided that VAR must have been intervened and it intervened. For Atletico's penalty against Real (on Simeone) the VAR did not like to intervene. That was much more legal than the Julian's penalty. But it did not intervene.
In addition, the law says "IF THE BALL WAS CLEARLY (NOTICEABLY) TOUCHED BEFORE THE SHOOTING IT MUST BE DISALLOWED". it says "CLEARLY". With the the best microscopes ever you cannot even talk about this case. How you disallowed it when you are not sure the ball moved because of physics or the left foot of Julian? How? You cloud also disallow Correa's penalty too. You could do the same with Sorloth too. IT IS A SHAME. THIS IS NOT A GAME. IT IS A PART OF PEREZ'S BUSINESS.

The proof must be shown at the moment of decision! Otherwise, it can no longer be taken seriously.
It should have been retaken
Yes rugby they explain but does every decision in soccer get explained why on this only
Is the lady Jennifer Lopez ? Or her sister
The expert in refereeing says there is a sensor in the ball. There isn't. That's how reliable her opinion is.
The lack of microphones is not corruption, it's class….see footballers are Knights. Artists. Gladiators , Pirates, superheroes .They deserve privacy while in the arena
Even in NBA they often explain
Im starting to think uefa is rigged
And nobody talk about clear red card on Mbappe !!! That was last man in goal opportunity !
Why is no one talking about the rule that says the ball should move clearly from the penalty mark?? Football's human aspect is gone. Ridiculous
Its not the first time even many double touch penalty are disallowed and never retaken
Now you all saw what we see in La Liga every weekend. The narrative is: "oh they should've attacked more and won instead of blaming the pen"….
In case of doubt, RM ALWAYS have the decisions going their way.
This is not fair now it showed that they want RealMadrid to fo all the way due to their favor of the officials
Leave game way it is, always making changes is ruining the game. The new UCL format trash and I don’t want hear the ref explain anything this isn’t nfl or rugby. They show u replay why do u need someone to explain.
The VAR thing in football is Madrid idea
omg they can't win any games without helping
Has technology come to help or cause problems. Scenario 1: If a player is ever so slightly offside by a finger tip, linesman and ref don't see it, goal is scored and VAR checks and goal overturned that's harsh and lucky for the conceding team.
Scenario 2: Simeone handball – arms not tucked in when marking in the penalty box, arm extended and ball hits arm on another day penalty is given.
Scenario 3: Alvarez slips and ever so slightly touches the ball, after VAR checks penalty is disallowed (not retaken) as per IFAB laws, yet again harsh.
Very simple! They should include explanation on the field with that, doubts will be clear. 9:53
That slip was on purpose not by accident.. real player would kick the ball with no doubts on the kick to goal.
Lo que tendrán que explicarnos es porque siempre hay polémicas por decisiones a favor del Real Madrid y nunca en contra
Henry cheated Ireland out of a World Cup appearance…
Real Madrid is the Beyonce of Football buys all with money and corruption!
Was that really worse than the kicker running, stop, fake a kick, wait for the keeper to dive one way and shoot.
oblak reality boy reality, we unlucky but they play good than vini jr
Uefa released the VAR footage , the ball was clearly moved, end of story.
It seems that VAR only worked now. If it had worked in the first match, Madrid's second goal would have been disallowed, but it just didn't work there. why does VAR only work for RM?
lol. That had 0 impact on the goal
In rugby you are taught how toncussle up to both; whiole NES daises Inter…? 8:57
To prevent players from cheating with feints during a penalty shootout, football rules clearly state that a player is not allowed to "double-tap" the ball during a penalty kick, meaning the player cannot touch the ball again after striking it, unless the ball is touched by another player. The original intent of this rule is to maintain fairness in the game and prevent players from gaining an advantage through improper means. However, today, Alvarez's penalty violation was not intentional; it was caused by his supporting foot sliding on the wet turf, and the ball unintentionally touched his supporting foot. This detail could only be detected through a VAR video replay in slow motion. The referee and the spectators in the stadium could not notice it during the fast pace of the match.
On the surface, the referee strictly enforced the rule, ruling the violation and canceling Alvarez's penalty. But is this the original intent behind the rule's creation? The purpose of the rule was to prevent deliberate cheating, not to achieve perfect precision. The referee's decision seems to be based on the rule itself, but in reality, it appears to be based on the letter of the law, rather than the spirit of the rule. Does this mechanical enforcement really align with the principles of fair play?
Stupid sport and stupid rules
If you look at Julian's left boot, you can see it first slides and then the sole's studs drive into the ground and stop the boot from sliding further. There is no way of checking if that boot actually touched the ball or just fell short by an infinitesimal distance. However, that being impossible to ascertain, the next palpable proof is to check if the football moves at all or just stays completely static until the fast traveling right boot impacts on it. Well, the ball stays completely static, which proves that at the very least the left boot exerted no pressure at all upon that ball before the right boot hit it with full force. Therefore, the available data suggests that in all probability the ball was not hit twice, it was hit only once. Annulling that goal was a mistake if no more proof can be provided, which seems the case despite the girl's report. I doubt there are more angles and resolution because they haven't been shown.
Henry is spot on, when ref did the hands signal it appeared like the decision was "nothing changes" not that the scoring was disallowed
Otherwise it seems in the recording they distributed later than Julian did touch the ball with the left feet before the strike so nothing to discuss there
Henry knows ball. The La liga has its own football.
I learn one thing about life, life is full of hatred,VAR hated ATICO
