An open letter signed by the PFA along with multiple medical professionals has requested that players who suffer a suspected or confirmed concussion, should be allowed to be replaced by a temporary substitute.

The PFA and other signatories have made the claim that time limits prevent medical professionals from conducting comprehensive clinical evaluation. They go on to state that these ‘arbitrary rules put the athlete’s life at risk’.

  1. i think if the clock was stopped during a game for any time a football isnt in play, it would stop time wasting and then these rules can be made. it would also just be a better experience for fans as we wont have to watch time wasters.

  2. Right decision. If you get a concussion, leave the pitch immediately.
If this was granted, we would see a lot of players faking head injuries just to get a 5-minute break during this temporary substitution

  3. This could just be abused! Could fake it to get a free substitution! If it happens then use a sub, if you haven’t got any left then tough! Shouldn’t matter anyway if the league is going to 5 subs!
