  1. What’s Stevie talking about? 40 of the fist 45 mins Liverpool had possession in Madrid’s half? Really? By the 72 min the possession was 52% to 48% in Madrid’s favor. It changed to 54% in favor of Liverpool by the end cause of desperation mode by Liverpool.

  2. The build up for Real's goal was world class. Stevie must not have paid attention to it because they played through the press. The possession started from the back by Mendy from the left side, played all the way to the right wing, and finished in the left side by Vini.

  3. Liverpool is good but when it comes to the champions league final Madrid hv always had an invisible 12th man on the pitch never did I think Liverpool would win

  5. These are absurd comments by the analysts/cretins. The score of a game tells you what you are. Let's make it simple for these envious dullards. Imagine it's a horse race and your horse Borstal Boy is leading the race for the first 75% of the race but then a second horse Real Madrid charges into first place and wins it going away. Real Madrid won and Borstal didn't, Simple as that-get it?

  6. Mr. Steve was always arrogant, disrespectful to, and said Real Madrid profited from 2nd legs to progress over PSG, Chelsea and Man City, and that they can't survive Liverpool as it is just one leg affair.

Truly, there was no need for a comeback because Liverpool aren't good enough to even score a goal. Funny thing is Liverpool are overhyped as a high energy pressing side who will overrun the Madrid aged midfield trio of Modric Kroos and Casimero, yet unlike in the previous rounds where Madrid had to sub them during the game to bring youthful players like Camavinga to help them, these supposed aged trio weren't even subbed vs Liverpool, barring an 89th minute sub of Modric when the match and trophy were long won by Madrid. So much for energy. Shame.

Liverpool were the easiest team for Madrid to beat. They were easily predictable: press hard to win the ball, play diagonal passes to wide areas near the byline, lay it back for the full backs for a one-time cross into the box for in-behind runners or pass the ball around a bit for the opposition to come forward a bit and then send the ball long aerially for their fast 3 forwards to run in-behind the defenders. That's all. Hardly any dynamism.

Madrid, like Chelsea, Tottenham and Villareal (until the the goalie's errors and their self implosion) knew this. The aged midfield trio, with their experience, and together with their defence, managed the energetic Liverpool, stayed compact, did not give rooms for in-behind runners, grew into the game and played around to get pass the counter-pressing of the reds. And it must be said that it was from one of these passages of plays to get pass the counter-pressing that eventually brought the goal.

From the ever composed and reliant Modric, who got away from 3 Liverpool players press deep into his own half, in-field to Carvajal, who went to the right side, yet again under press from 3 reds' players, gave a pass to Casemiro close to the centre line, then to Velverde after 7 reds have been taken out with just 3 sweet passes. It's now 3 vs 3 – Velverde, Benzema and Vini Jnr. vs VVD, Konate and TAA. From Velverde to Vini Jnr. Its a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL

    Real Madrid, UCL CHAMPIONS!!!

  7. Being able to decipher the correct tactical approach to a game to produce a result AND execute it successfully is the sign of a mature team. It didn't make for a more fun, open final game to watch but this was what Madrid felt was the best chance to win and it worked. At the end of the day, you can hate on Madrid if you want to but the resume speaks for itself. PSG, Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool….by rights they should not have even been there and yet… It was the best CL run I've ever seen. Congrats to Real Madrid!!

  8. Madrid calmed the game down and made sure the tempo of the gengenpress never materialized. And Madrid have tanks too. Valverde and casemiro are tanks. Modric too. They complement each other. They weren’t even in their top gear and yet they won the game. Says a lot about them

  9. Real Madrid played within themselves in all games. When they needed to go up a gear, when they were losing, they knew how to do it. Pure experience won them the Champions League this year.
