  1. Lawrence Taylor is the greatest ever. My example: look at all of the comments it’s always LT and someone else. It’s different for everyone but LT is always the common denominator

  2. Walter Payton all day every day…he could run (quickness, speed and power), goal-line stance run, catch (still in top 5 Bears receiving records), block AND EVEN throw.

  3. What are we discussing? How many NFL players play multiple positions and are great in those positions? Most if not all NFL players are only great at their specific position. So if you are the best at your position and you have the most wins and the most championship then you are the best NFL player. That is how I see it.

  4. The game 2 soft now for me to choose anyone from this era especially cheaters. Lawrence Taylor. Is the goat. The most feared and the guy revolutionized the game. Belichick even said don't put anyone in tye same sentence as Lawrence Taylor but Jerry the best offensive player

  5. Could you see Jim Brown playing Quarterback? I don't think so. Because it takes a certain set of skills that not everyone has.
That's why you can't just rely on athleticism to be a determining factor. The only way you even qualify for this list is how you stack up against your contemporaries. How much separation is there from you and the next guy. Which is why Jim Brown, Tom Brady, Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, and Deion Sanders make the list for me.

But QB is different animal altogether. The way you impact the game is just too severe. There is a reason teams sell out the farm for the next QB. Because that's how important the position is. You don't do that for any other position.

  6. Very easy to point out that Chris Broussard’s logic is flawed on that a player needs to display enough athleticism. Shaq, Duncan, and Wilt couldn’t shoot the basketball and could not defend perimeter players but they’re in the top 10 goats of basketball.

  7. Wow rob just said Jim is the goat and one big ass reason is he got a chip to Cleveland and that’s one judge ass feat but then trash talks bron so bad?? Ptah ya a pure hater. Bron the goat.
And how do you guys claim Jim brown while saying even though in his era the rest of talent wasn’t the same but then when talking about b-ball say Bill Russell can’t be the goat because even thoo he won the era was trash. Wtf are y’all saying this fucken “experts” dumb AF.

  8. This notion that Brady isn't athletic is ridiculous he might be slower than the average professional athlete but he most certainly is athletic the man was also drafted to the goddamn MLB

  9. Being a great athlete does mean an individual will be a great football player. Example: Usain Bolt.

At the same time, being a great football player does not mean an individual is a great athlete. Example: Tom Brady.

Typically, sports greatness has three requirements: career statistics/accomplishments, championships, and athleticism. The public will give more credit to greatness if the athleticism is supernatural while lacking in one or two of the other categories. Example: Randy Moss. No championships, but has all the numbers and was a freakish athlete.

Of the five players on the screen, Barry is disqualified. Freakish athlete, great numbers (although others have passed him) but no titles.

Montana: 4-0 in Super Bowls, but played in a different era so his numbers look pedestrian.

Brown & Rice: deserve GOAT consideration.

Brady: has the numbers, has the titles, rarely got hurt. 9 Super Bowl appearances with 6 titles, 4 Superbowl MVP's, and regular season MVP's. Brady is the greatest of all time.

  10. You can’t have a “Greatest Football Player of All-Time” when these players only play in one of the 3 facets of the game. ESPN is once again stupid and shitty

  11. There is no GOAT in football only positions this convo is stupid to me because football is such a team sport one player can’t affect both sides of the ball like say basketball
