  1. (1 of 2) There is a good reason why Howard Cosell was paired with Frank the Giant, and Don the Cowboy back in the day. That is how important good commentary is needed, thus I'm not surprised that guys Iike Troy the Cowboy getting a huge paycheck to call games for them.

The "flexing" BS is a lazy cop-out that only rewards deadbeats Iike Cris the Bengal, and Dennis the washed-up Not Ready for Primetime Player* with spots they don't deserve!

  2. (2 of 2) And now ABC/ESPN gets that "flexing" BS for MONDAY nights! You think getting tickets for a SUNDAY afternoon game only to be turned into a night game was bad, just imagine a SUNDAY game becoming a MONDAY game (and vice versa)! I hope ABC/ESPN and the NFL enjoy empty seats later in the season, because there is going to be LOTS of them!

*And yes, I know that Dennis the washed-up Not Ready for Primetime Player was before the "flexing" garbage, but the point still stands.

  3. Disney definitely got the better of that exchange with Universal years ago.

Short term=Al Michaels (real life person)

Long term=Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (fictional character)

Of course, Universal did manage to retain the Walter Lantz years of Oswald (aka the peak years of Oswald), so that's something right there.

Disney has a lot of werk in order to reinvent Oswald if they are going to surpass the Walter Lantz years.

  4. I feel so bad for Tom Hammond, Al Michaels, Mike Tirico and whoever else that has to be/have been saddled up with the cancer known as Cris the Bengal.

If only DlCK Enberg and Bob Costas's one time partner Bob the Bengal would come out of retirement.

  5. Local bias >>> So called non bias

I really would rather have that at this point. Besides, it would be very interesting if say, FOX had a playoff game between the Vikings and the Bears, and Green Bay FOX affiliate WLUK 11 had to choose between the Viking commentators, or the Bear commentators to listen too!
Plus, Troy and Tony can be commentators for their beloved Cowboys. I'd bet Troy would be play-by-play.

  6. I’m actually blessed with this news as like most people I can’t stand Bucks commentary, I’d love to see Chris Myers and Kenny Albert together for the biggest games of the NFL regular season, playoffs and the Super Bowl on FOX as those two together would be fantastic in my opinion…

  7. If I were MLB, I will be adding NBC back to the mix and add Peacock, USA Network, TBS and ESPN to the mix and do a rotation of the World Series every year alongside Fox just like the NFL does with the Super Bowl broadcast rotation with NBC, CBS, Fox and ESPN/ABC, the NCAA basketball title game rotation with TBS and CBS and the current NHL Stanley Cup Finals rotation with TNT and ESPN/ABC.

  8. Troy Aikman was a great QB. Even underrated. But as an announcer I think he OK, not great. His personality is kind of boring and doesn't bring the excitement Pat and John did. I actually think both Joe and Troy are better off as 2nd or 3rd unit not the first.

  9. I just hope the Monday Night games are as good as the Sunday Night Games on NBC or the Game of Week on FOX and CBS. Because the matchups on the Field is more important than who is in the Booth
