  1. I think Sky Sports, Gary Neville and all these protesting at games are forgetting that the Premier League was a breakaway from the Football League by the FA.

Without this breakaway English football wouldn't be the major powerhouse that it is today

  2. It wasn't an attempted murder of English football, what a ridiculous reactionary statement.

They only wanted to replace the UCL when it turned out that couldn't do that without getting all their players banned, they stuck with the Status Quo.

Who's to say the ESL wouldn't bomb and the big money stayed in UCL and domestic leagues? Because logically that's what would have happened.

  3. Could you imagine being married to Gary, what a nagging git he would be. I would rather Ryan Giggs and that saying something as he is a women beater.

  4. These man really tried to act like they’re cared about Racism. You see the way they react when it effects what they care about, at the end of the day Gary has his own football business and team also and would love to one day have his team in the top tier. Hence why he was doing everything in his power in order to not have football. He’s talking about the FSG like they’re criminals. I don’t agree with the ESL either. Just to conclude all I’m trying to say you see the contrast when he actually cares about something and when he’s getting paid to talk about something!

  5. sorry gary. ESL will not be stopped and theres not a damn thing you or anyone else can do about it. money talks and no one gives a damn about the average fan they are merely customers

  6. ill predict it now, Euro Premier League within five seasons. Neville is a bull merchant, he is a football club owner, all he wants to do is feather his nest and make his share in Salford worth more.

  7. It would have killed not only the British football. If these clubs want to have a closed shop – throw them out of the Premier Ligue and ban the players for their national teams. The can certainly play for Qatar, Glazer etc.

  8. Says the player that he and his peers quite happily took extortionate amounts of money out of the game. That these players happily allow agents to be part of the game sucking so much money out of it that should be put back down the pyramid and into grass roots. Says the players that have been on this journey of changing a sport into a business driven by Sky TV who think putting london clubs away games against Newcastle on a Monday night is a good idea. Bunch of hypocrites, the lot of you.

  9. Long gone are the days when I'd get in from school, settle down and prepare to watch a huge Champions League fixture just on ITV with the family around me, you could hear the atmosphere along the street in those days… footballs been taken into contracts, subscriptions, pay per views, and as a result some younger people aren't getting into the beautiful game as much and a European Super League format is just another nail in the coffin.

  10. John Henry made his video apology to the LFC fans but despite the financial support in the past this radical move against English football has tainted any good they have done with a deceitful attempt to hijack the game. Good luck showing your face at Anfield now.

  11. Hypocrites, the lot of them. It was Sky Sports who turned English football into a business. They've been ripping the fans off for nearly three decades!!

  12. How can the government enact legislation to block any future Super League type proposals when FIFA has historically suspended and sanctioned national football associations for allowing government interference in football matters? Get off your soapbox Red “man of the people” Nev, and do some research. And btw. the irony is that he’s anti ESL having played for and now commentated for two entities whose power derives from being at the top of the money tree. Yet the irony eludes him. ??

  13. Sky Sports and SKYBET (OTHER BETTING COMPANIES) must love this Super League nonsense – keeps the attention away from CORRUPT GAMBLING CORPORATIONS, AND BANKERS AND UEFA AND FIFA WHO UNDER THEIR TENTACLES.
