There are clubs that draw fans on account of their history even if they may not be winning as much at present. Most people outside Europe would care more about these clubs than lesser known teams that might qualify once in a while. The bulk of the money that the most famous clubs make come from outside rather than gate attendance and domestic TV deals. They would want to see more of the elite to meet play against each other as these are the hot tickets. However, the Super League will create a wider gap that would decrease the chances of lesser known clubs to break through. Having more home and away games before the knockout stages would benefit popular teams. At present, teams that make it to the pool stage have six matches. Occasionally, some popular teams fail to advance. When this happens, TV viewership can take a hit. The Super League is a way for the most exclusive clubs to generate as much wealth for themselves without having to share it. This would , however, create a divide that would destroy the soul of the game.

How this guy gets on TV totally baffles me. All Ferdinand does is parrot what he reads on social media. These ex players create social media channels just to get ideas and reactions from viewers. Ferdinand then always repeats what other people say. He can't think for himself. Get him off our screens! If he was offered a starring role in the ESL, he would jump at it in a flash. Trust me!

This is ironic because all the clubs in the premier League get £100 million without kicking a ball, and probably about 2 out of the 22 players on the pitch in a game like the north London derby are actually English, whereas Scotland can't cope because they aren't allowed (but Wales are). It's basically the same situation and they ignore that. Football is ruined, now the game is whoever has money wins.
Big up to both Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville for speaking out on this. They know the game. Who would've thought that 2 ex Manchester United players are against this and the owners of that club are down for it.

As much as I love barcelona but this idea to them was awfulat first but to be in a situation where they have nearly have 1.5 billion euros of debt this idea semes to be the quickest way out and I cant blame them some of us are thousands and thousands of dollars in debt Barca are in a far worse situation and when papa perez came knocking it was hard to resist an opportunity of making money
